You take a drink from the ale. "A prison ship sank? Do you know what kind of scoundrels it was carrying?" You ask.

"Wifes a loud one isn't she" The barkeep chuckles. "Can't say I do, Thieves and Murderers I would guess. Not sure ow it appen though. Some say they could see it burnin from the ill. A few boats went out lookin for survivors, ad no luck though."

tell him in the face that you're one ah dem niggas.

Rather, ask for a place to stay. Or if he knows some sort of job you can take on.

ask if you can work for him at the inn.

That way, you can earn money and would also be able to eavesdrop constantly on people talking about the newest stuff.

You might get some new info about the prison ship quickly that way.

Ask him if there are any treasure hunters after the ship's remains, since a prison ship had to be carrying at least someone's week worth of pay.

That is your cover story for your interest, the real reason is that the salvage may provide clues to your past, even a book of names from the ship might jog your memory.

You ask how much a room is at the inn.

"Ten silver pieces a night, dinner and breakfast included." The hare says. "Sixty silver for the week."

You ask him if he needs any help with the inn or knows anyone looking for hired help.

"The wife and me daughters ave everything under control here, but you might want to check with the dock-master, elp load and unload cargo." He tells you.

D= why?

Navel documents survive all the time. The runny shit we write with and cheap paper we write on today is nothing compared to actual pigments and fibers.

Salt water is actually really good at preserving things.

File: Ultra%20buisness%20troll.jpg - (157.98 KB, 841x600) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Ask if there's a blacksmith, also ask him how much it is to just sleep on the tavern floor.

If cheap booze is a single copper and 100 copper = 1 silver I rather spend every night sleeping on a shitty floor and work it off with over 800 pints or more.

It was also on fire to the point of engulfing the ship.

>>1745980 (Your right, I'll errata that. 1 silver a Night 6 for the Week.)

You ask if there is a blacksmith in the town.

"There is, es not very good though, ate to say." the hare says.

Some chests are fire-proof, a common wood that was used to make fire-proof chests was blackwood.

It is so hard they can make ship ties out of it, before they used metal ties. A piece of blackwood can survive a house fire.

>>1746054 I know this because I enjoy navel history and I am also a woodworker!

It's a fabale!
And that's fabulous.

Did you know a fabale is a species of plant? Did you mean fable?

You know, I should just be making suggestions that lead to more sex, instead of more danger :3

"The port also as a clothier, you might want to stop in there and get something that fits ya better." The hair says.

You are keeping those baggy cloths they are super comfortable gawd get off my back already!

They're both correct in different eras.

What the hell is that junk on the floor?
If otherwise needing commands- if it's late then get some food and a room to sleep, or not then get better clothes like you're obviously railing to.

Make friends with the does. Maybe strike up a conversation on the clothes you'll inevitably be buying. See where it leads.

Become their gay best friend!

You never know. They might get naked in front of you thinking you won't have a boner for them because you're 'gay'. Hollywood is how real life works, right? Right?

File: Yes_lets.jpg - (264.62 KB, 322x2000) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

We need to be "measured"

This. Try to get them to fawn over you. If it didn't lead to sex it'd still be cute.

It might be usefu to try and befriend the hare's wife. Or her and her friend too.

Since he has an inn, and they apparently like gossiping about.

If you befriend them properly, you might gain a place to stay for a day or two for free, as well as a sure way to possibly get info on the prison ship.

You dont have to become their gay friend, though. But it might be useful.

File: 220RatAtThePort.jpg - (27.72 KB, 504x144) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

You look down at the crap on the floor. Someone scratched symbols into the wood. They seem familiar but you don't know why...

Its not too late, maybe around 4 pm.

You ask the Hare where the clothier's shop is.

"Just a few doors down." He says.

Go befriend the does! I foresee fun at best and funny at worst.

File: 221RatAtThePort.jpg - (99.76 KB, 504x504) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

No... you don't want to look like a creepy bar drunk or something and It would be rude to interrupt the barkeeps wife and who you guess is one of his daughters in the middle of their conversation. Besides, you don't need to befriend them to quietly sit in a bar and lessen to gossip, and if you ask about too much people will grow suspicious.

Buy a bite to eat if you're hungry, finish up quickly. We can go see the fashion fag (Not likely) or lass and see if we can entertain ourselves for a while and then hit the blacksmith afterward. He doesn't have to be Hephaestus to tack a dagger on to a saber handle or any other sort of grip we can hook our tail into to wield it.

Oh and thank the barkeep before you go, maybe he'll see you again tonight maybe he won't we'll see.

That'd be awesome.

Something to weild the dagger with your tail, flinging it around like a motherfucker.

It'd also allow us to use a staff to defend ourselves which we seemed adept enough with and stab anyone lightly armored easily enough while doing so.

Oh and we need a cape. So we can hide the tail dagger easily somewhere more useful than our man purse.

File: 222RatAtThePort.jpg - (99.25 KB, 504x504) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

You finish your drink, thank the barkeep and leave the tavern inn for the time being. You walk a few buildings down, past some alleys and enter the clothiers shop.

"Ello sir." Says a lady shrew. "Welcome to the cross stitch. Can I help you with anything today?"

(Hey, I know I am just asking for trouble, but why don't some of you draw up new clothing ideas for the rat.)

Can you draw a quick paperdoll-template for us to model the clothes on him?

Just use the pic of him angrily pumping the seahorse pump.

I can't think of an idea, so here's a naked rat for a base.

There have been enough pictures of our rat guy being naked already.

/furi/, you lazy fucks you.

There are never enough naked rat pictures, what are you even talking about?

wow, you drew him supercute

I'd pay attention to this thread if he looked like this... sorry Scrags.

...............CautionCat and Scraggy collaboration? LOL

oh and moving on with the story, in response to the shrew's offer of assistance, ask her if she has a selection of capes with a hood and perhaps some fitting rooms? Also get something with lots of pockets LOL....a pocket watch?? maybe i donno XD

No genitalia :(

Longsleeve shirt, tailored pants (I just used carpenter style for reference), and a vest. Should be simple enough to draw and for the story to not draw too much attention to yourself. Also make sure that the fabric is similar to what you've seen other people wearing.

A new Hero is born!

He's a thief.
He requires a dark blue-gray cloak for sneaking.

Good idea.

Regardless of the materials used, how everything is shaped etc, dark colors would probably be a good idea. Or some that fit into the jungle.

Just some form of coloration that'll grant you sneaking advantage.

File: ironratman_.png - (322.10 KB, 650x1000) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

forgot the tail

What am i saying

If you're ever going to steal shit soon, you'll be doing it in the port town and therefor at night. So get something in dark gray / blue. Not black, that cuts out your shape too much in the dark.

The fuck is the fur color of our rat guy anyway?

Man, all those designs look way too modern.

A simple black hooded robe that stops just above the knees with a belt and inner pocket in each sleeve for money (we can keep the gold coins in there and the rest in our bag) and lets say poison would be simplistic and functional.

>>1747545 (Light grey fur)

That'd fit perfectly then

Hey Scraggy, canonically, can creatures that are able to see in the dark do so in this? Say like Miranda?

File: RatventureClothing.jpg - (115.54 KB, 658x738) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

>>1747574 (Depends on the character. Miranda is a magic user, so she might just use magic to see in the dark. But if it was someone like the Barkeep or a random villager then they would have trouble seeing in the dark.

Also this is clothing I was thinking of from what people have been suggesting)

he looks like FRODO now XD

He now looks like a badass rat.

File: Ratbandolero.jpg - (127.97 KB, 658x738) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Virtually just what I had in mind. Imagine how cute he could look with his hood up. I wonder if his sash/crossstrap could hold a few pouches or loops, kind of like a proto-bandolero?

File: Ratforesttones.jpg - (162.52 KB, 658x738) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

I think we should spend some thought on the colour - the right tones will make it easier to camouflage yourself into a bush or similar.

(forgot inside of cape)

Might be difficult to get clothing that'd be equally helpful in sneaking in the bushes AND the average night in a port town (concrete, stone colored surrounding, some wood etc).

Wait, could you get the outside in a different color than the inside? So you could just switch from port town night camoflage to average jungle camoflage in a few seconds.

That would eliminate hidden pockets inside, though.

Not necessarily, hidden inner pockets for the port would simply transform into outer pockets for the jungle.

True, I derped.

I think that might be awesome, assuming you wont try to sneak around in a fully alive, crowded port town (I assume its such a port town, herpderp) during daytime.

Whilst doing so in the jungle is plausible at any time of day.

Also, I really like the basic design of those clothes.

Reversible cloak sounds awesome. Would likely cost more though.

File: qfgchar.jpg - (40.62 KB, 406x255) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

reminds me of quest for glory but with sex and animals.

after you get your new outfit you should see if you can find anyone that can tell you about the symbols you found, or go to the blacksmith and get your tail dagger. but then again the barkeep did say he was not good so i would save your money till you find a good one.

Maybe even 2 or up to 3 times as much.

But we have no idea of the cost for a basic one so far anyway.

The Quest for Glory series has sex and animals...

>>1747787 (Fuck yes, this is kinda what I been going for)

You tell the Lady shrew you would like a new pair of brown trousers and a kinda dark leafy green tunic.

"Not a problem dear" She says "I should ave something in your size or close to it. Lets see, The tunic and trousers would cost a silver piece together."

You ask if she happens to have any leather belts also, with pouches, about 6 of them.

"I ave belts, I would ave to make the pouches, but it wouldn't take more then a day." She says. "It would cost about 3 silver, but it would be worth it, its strong leather."

Lastly you ask about a cloak, but not just a normal cloak. A cloak that you could turn inside out to change the color, and with lots of pockets on the inside. One side a dark grey, the other a forest green.

The shrew puts her fist under her chin and thinks.

"Yes, I could make that." She says with a nod. "It would be about 2 silver and 50 copper pieces, and would take a day or so, being a custom made cloak and all. For everything it would cost 6 silver and 50 copper pieces. 7 silver if you want the pouches and cloak ready by tomorrow afternoon."

Dat katta dance.

File: sierra_343.png - (30.91 KB, 320x200) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

"Ten silver pieces for a night in an inn" vs "6 silver and 50 copper pieces for new clothes"... after one day of work she can't sleep one single night in an inn...

(I had changed the in cost >>1745999)

Deal for 7 silver and throw in 50/1silver copper as a tip. :)

Be a good rat.

File: 1283488830393.gif - (1435.32 KB, 193x135) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

50 copper or 1 silver I meant to say.

Also make sure the trousers have a hidden pocket or two in case you need to hide a lockpick or something.

That's what our ear is apparently for.

File: 223RatGoesShopping.jpg - (134.49 KB, 720x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

You pay the lady shrew 7 silver and give her a 1 silver tip. She fits you for your pants and tunic and measures you for the cloak. She tells you to come back anytime after noon tomorrow for your cloak and pouches.

She also lets you know that in your pants are 2 hidden pockets she dubbed "anti-pickpocket pockets". They are just 2 little pockets on the inside of the pants hidden by a flap of fabric and meant for a key or a few coins. Your lock-pick also fits easily enough in it.

You thank her again and walk out.

File: 224RatGoesShopping.jpg - (170.26 KB, 792x576) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

You now have 4 gold, 91 silver and 99 copper coins

Next you head down to the blacksmith's shop, you guess its the one with the broken sign that looks like an anvil. Next to it is a store called Ollie's Chest of Provisions.

Knock on the door of the smith shop, then enter if it is unlocked.

Have a look around at the shop and other customers.

Its better if you go to the store after you get your cape and your pouches. Go to the blacksmith, take a look to the quality of his creations.

judging by the look of the blacksmith sign it doesn't seem that its a very good place to spend your money in. id take a detour into the provisions shop

File: 225RatGoesShopping.jpg - (175.66 KB, 792x504) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

>>1748995 (wtf is this?)

You enter the Chest of Provisions and are greeted by the shopkeeper.

"Hello, welcome to The Chest of Provisions, can I help you find anything sir rat?"

The shop is full of stocked shelves and displays but someone didn't feel like drawling them all, they are there though.

(time to throw some item lists at me)

List: a rope, cheese, condoms and a dildo. That should be ok

I do not believe they have condoms in Ye Olde Furryville

File: 1279830181541.jpg - (7.75 KB, 231x205) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Hmm, potions, rope, bedroll/tent, backpack, flint/steel, waterskin, candle, flask, lantern, dry goods/food for carrying, medical supplies, compass, maybe a lockpick kit, more stuff which I cant think of now.

You never know when you'll come into money again, see if he has any second hand/ pawned items.

Since the smith is reportedly not that great it might actually be smarter to buy a used woodsman axe from this store than the smiths. An axe is both a great weapon and a survival tool.

Lamp oil, rope, bombs.

If anyone get's the reference you can haz a cookie, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?

But what if you dont have enough money and you have to come back when your a little more richer?

File: 226RatGoesShopping.jpg - (70.26 KB, 648x216) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

You pick out a few things.
A candle, compass, 7 days of dry rations, Flint and Steal, Lamp Oil, 25 feet of rope, Water-skin, Bandages, A Flask, and a Lantern. It comes to 6 silver and 40 copper coins.

You now have 4 gold, 85 silver, and 59 copper pieces.

You add the items into your pack.

Lock-picking tools are illegal in most towns and city's and you know better then to ask for them in a common shop. The shop keeper also doesn't sell potions, and he is out of stock on tents.

Add salt and wax paper to the list? You can seal up your own rations if you find yourself hunting at a later date, and salt can also be used as a weapon.

Uh disregard I suck cocks. He can just re-use the wax paper the rations come in.

What are the breeding rules of your setting. Are baby rats only a concern for our hero if he mates with another rat?

I'm guessing there is inter-species compatibility because it was specifically mentioned after the fertility rite that she was incapable of children.

Have some burger cookies.

File: 227RatBirdsAndBees.jpg - (227.73 KB, 592x400) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

>>1750046 (If a male and female of different species mate then the chances of children are much lower but possible. If a cat and a tiger mated the chances would be higher because they are both felines but of a skunk and a deer mated the chances would be very low for children, but still possible.

The baby's are the same species as the mother, but will have some of the fathers traits. An example would be if A male rabbit with brown fur mated with a female wolf with grey fur. Some of the child/children would have brown fur/marbled brown grey fur, and slightly longer ears.

Also depending on the species of the mother the chances of multiple children during one pregnancy are different. Rabbits, Rats, Mice, Squirrels and such tend to have 1 to 4 children during one pregnancy while Bears, Tigers, Lions and such would have 1 and rarely 2. Wolves, Badgers, Otters, Dogs, Cats, Foxes and such would have 1 to 2, and occasionally 3.

Here is a raccoon girl mating as an example.)

File: 228RatFinishesShopping.jpg - (171.10 KB, 792x576) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

You leave the shop and head over to the blacksmith but when you try to open the door it won't budge.

"He closes down for the night around 6." Says a passerby.

You steep away from the door and wounder what to do next.

Sexy! thanks for the heads up... I have a kink for impregnation >.>

In relation to the story!

Consider the rate of unprotected sex you're having and the cute rat lady tailor. Maybe the store will have some sheepskin condoms, they would be a lot cheaper than a baby.

(Disregard my last suggestion, too late for condoms since we already left.)

Duck down between the two buildings when no one is looking. Learn your surroundings, you might need an escape route later on and it would be handy to know the back streets. Who knows, someone might have survived and you could be wanted.

whoever played quest for glory those symbols are dead giveaways for a thieves guild markings. time to brush up on deciphering those symbols if he remembers or tires to remember them

You steep into the ally and take a look at the symbols scratched into the brick. (The symbols in reality are really faintly scratched, but rat has an easy time spotting them so I draw them darker)

Your ears perk up as you finally remember what they are, Thief Markings, used by thieves guilds.

You concentrate on the markings trying to remember what each symbol stands for...

The top one means under... but the other two just aren't coming to you.

look under barrel

File: 230RatFinishesShopping.jpg - (66.92 KB, 504x504) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

You slide the barrel aside and find...

Nothing, well, you find a water stained ring on the ground, a centipede and a beetle.

ok i mistook the square for a barrel look under the box lol

(ok now im hunting for my quest for glory: shadows of darkness cd)

Squish them! Bugs are grooooss!!!!

Under the 3rd stone/box/square object.

Ooo, plot thickens!

Definitely gotta find that thieves guild. Even if to get some some not so lawful contacts going. You never know when you might need some information that you shouldn't be asking about.

However, at this point you may not want to risk drawing to much attention to yourself so no stealing stuff!

holy crap i found my hero guide that came with qfg sod. i had to scan this picture in.

quishing bugs is bad, they have nervous systems and fell things too

what if something didn't like hhooomans? and stepped on us ;d

File: 231RatFinishesShopping.jpg - (64.04 KB, 504x360) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

>>1750189 (Don't, I am using the Idea of the markings, not the real markings from the games)

When you slide the barrel back you make sure to squash the bugs, they are gross.

You slide the 3rd box over and find a basement window with no bars or glass.

(I'm not sure, but in the future I don't want to constantly take commands from the same person multiple times in a row. To be fair I like to take commands from different people or the most common command among the group)

The symbols have some relation to their meaning, the underground one definitely shows something that looks like a cache in the ground... Ergo, we can assume the square is either indicating a secret room or a contain.

The three lines probably indicate a distance of 3 landmarks, be it doors, statues or markings... think back to the tavern, are they the same, or slightly different?

Perhaps the guild area is at the end of a series of clues.

Disregard, I'm too slow.

Still, think back to the symbols at the inn. Whats different between the two?

How long do you think miranda is going to need to pack?
She's probably left by now.

The girls are something I wonder about. Does the rat have feelings for them beyond friends/ fuck buddies? Or is that up to US to decide as the rat's "brain" ?

It's... up to scraggy.
Choo! Chooooo!

Options (some I thinked after that): 1- Look for a paper and something that could be used for painting drawing (Ex. Blood, Charcoal, something!). Copy the symbols on the paper, go to the tavern and ask if they know something about them. 2- Go to the port, take a look arround, maybe you can find/listen something usefull there. Maybe you can search for your lockpicking tools there. 3- Take a rest at the tavern. 4- Go in there risking yourself to get caught by someone, attacked by a wierd thing down there or just simply find nothing or things that could work on/for something.

Those are the options I thinked. I vote for my 2nd anyways.

File: 1264034664766.jpg - (97.65 KB, 300x300) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Do we know what building this basement window goes to? If not I would try to figure that out. Also before nightfall I would check out the rest of the port to see what is up. After that head back to the inn for rest and a good bath?

File: 232RatFinishesShopping.jpg - (101.83 KB, 504x504) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Your sure she left and is at Variola's or at least almost there.

(Some of It is up to you all, depending on the commands you make and what ones I chose. I like to keep the story going so I kinda wanted to move on from the voodoo girls)

It looks like the basement of a house, being used for storage. You don't see anything worth snatching from looking through the window.

Oh look more symbols.

File: blues_clues.jpg - (105.26 KB, 504x504) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

go to that symbol in the red circle. Looks like its pointing up, if i'm not mistaken.

Also, before you go in, make sure to slide the box back to cover the window you just came in. Just so nobody feeling like looking there sees you moving stuff around.

If it's pointing up, try to reach that bottle or whatever it is thats on the shelf.

Try every book on the shelf, and try moving it. Secret passages like to hide behind book cases.

Also, stealing from the thieves guild would violate guild rules by all odds. Best not to steal anything in case you get caught.

Hide your gold at least half your money and come back. If you get mugged, you lose a fortune!

Don't enter in broad daylight!
You're very likely to get caught either while entering/exiting or if someone comes down the stairs.
Wait until it's dark.
It shouldn't be long, since >>1750117 implies it's already around 6 pm.

This this this

Then when its dark, do what I said in >>1750844

You decide to come back after you've stored your gear and some of your gold. Also it would be better to check after the sun goes down so no one sees you crawling into someone basement.

You move the crate back in-front of the window.

Don't loiter. Either look for a bank or start looking for a tree stump or loose stone you can cache some emergency coins in/under/behind.

You go just outside the port and find a tree-stump. After making sure no one is around you dig a hole under it between the roots. You hide 3 of your Gold Coins in it and place a rock over the hole.

The sun is going down, by the time you get back into the port it should be dark.

I say piss on the stump, to throw of anybody from thinking there's something valuable here.

And head back to the port after that.

Back to port, was a long day, so you could chat with the tavern's pillows~

Im not sure we want to investigate that basement yet. We do not have any real way to defend ourself from attacks. Unless you count the tail. So I would just head back to the inn/pub see if there are more people and try to listen in for more information. Then get a nice bath.

Go back to the port. If its dark already, get to the place in >>1750227, crawl in, and do what >>1750844 and >>1750845 said.

Is there an archive of all the previous threads? I'd like to read them all.

( Didn't we swipe a knife earlier? I thought we were somewhat armed with a butchers knife or something. )

Depending on wheter the people have animalistic instincts or not, a prey species' urine just might attract attention, rather than divert it...

(I kinda got the feeling that the voodoo girls were the whole point!)

You return to the port, it is now dark.

(Where should rat go and what should he do there.)

( too hard to see. Change the line colors to blue or yellow, like moonlight. Maybe reserve blue lines for nightmares tho. )

Our sexual appetite has been well serviced the last few days, but company hasn't exactly been a peer level with you, it's been more like a boss and a worker.

Go to the inn, try to socialize with people on the same level. Maybe the tailor is there, she was cute wasn't she?

calibrate your monitor.

Already did. My gamma is spot on for 2.2 under the 45% 25% 2.2% guidelines.

Maybe you need to stop pumping up your contrast hmm??

Stay on topic.

Sneak back to the place with that thief sign and the box hiding a basement

do what >>1750844 said

>>You return to the port, it is now dark.
>>it is now dark.

Seriously, you three. Flew right the fuck over your heads.

Also, activate rat night vision!

Yeah, 12% gray doesn't show up well on most monitors since they usually aren't linear leveled correctly.
An easy & common way to show night in basic line art is to just invert, also allows darks of windows and doors to look lit that way.

Back to The Gameā„¢
I think hiding 3 gold there was too much, I would've hidden 1 each in a couple places and some change elsewhere, but whatever, maybe scout around for any unusual town activity before going to the inn to eat and sleep.

You enter the port and silently make your way back to the alley. After making sure no one else is around you carefully slide the crate to the side and slip into the basement. You reach back out the window and slide the crate back over the window to hide it again, then you dust off your new clothing.

At the top of the stairs is a closed wooden door.

You check the symbols on the side of the bookshelf.

I think it's saying under the vase rack or something. Check the thing under the tablecloth that's next to the chair.

File: 237RatAtThePort.jpg - (99.92 KB, 504x504) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Its an old desk, nothing in it but dead spiders and dust.

Search if there's something inside the desk, if there's nothing you could take a look into the jars

File: 1270242134113.jpg - (22.29 KB, 300x300) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Is there a passageway behind the bookshelf?

cover the desk again to try to leave as much undisturbed stuff as possible.. try to raise the pot and see if it contains something inside, or below it.

examine the wall under the shelf (the one without the desk)

you feel hungry and eat one of the dead spiders.

Since there's still the sign on the side of the bookshelf, pointing up. And there's a vase on it.

>>1752868 (Learn to read >>1752855)
>>1753201 (If by pointing up you mean pointing down >>1752757)

You cover up the desk again and check under the pot of the bookcase, there is nothing under it.

You check the wall under the shelf and find nothing.

Did you look inside the pot? If no, do so.

hmmm look at the 3rd item on the shelf on the bottom of the item or under it

You've seen three sets of these local guild markings. Take a moment to mentally reflect on all three codes you've seen. Use the one we had figured out to gleen a better understanding of the two not-understood markings.

( In otherwords, throw up a picture of the inn marking, the street marking and the shelf marking. )

Notice the underground symbol and the 3 lines are used to indicate location and a number of X as a landmark.

The down arrow obviously means a direction to look or go, which is different from the "underground" symbol that seems to indicate basements.

The only unknown marker here is what appears to be a shelf.

You either need to look underneath a shelf with three objects on it, or the third shelf in the room.

Either way, instead of just peaking inside the desk, why don't you try sliding it across the floor, knock on the ground the shelf was on, maybe we'll hear a hollow thud indicating a hidden room.

Try to slide the bookshelf a bit off the wall, so you can peek behind it (and possibly also see if something is hidden under it on the ground).

Also: How come we can see in total darkness without a light?
Maybe we can discover more if we light the candle or the lantern?

You light your candle, the lantern might throw off too much light.

The bookshelf is attached to the wall and won't move.

check da bottle on top of da bookshelf. anything inside?

Check the bottom sides of the shelves for some clues.

Look at everything from every possible angle.

File: hawking.jpg - (22.89 KB, 380x353) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

if the shelf doesnt move, its either too heavy or its one of these trap or swich-moved hidden door.
You look around to see if any of the things that are visible can be moved to activate a switch.
or perhaps a button somewhere.
I also noticed theres different things in each shelf.. counting 1 , 2 and 3 things..

File: 241RatYouHaveTheAnswer.jpg - (67.50 KB, 504x504) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Its carved on the bookshelf, maybe it has something to do with the shelf.

Alright then, let's check the bookshelf

oh i think i got it, on the 3rd shelf of the bookcase pull it down

Looks like some bad hieroglyphics there. the ||| means 'plural' of something.

But the first symbols means "under".

yea your right under. so under the 3rd shelf of the bookshelf perhaps

File: 242RatYouSuckAtPuzzles.jpg - (89.71 KB, 504x504) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

>>1753505 (I told you what the lll is. >>1753359)

You feel under the 3rd shelf down from the top and find a small latch. When you pull on it you can hear a small click and then you can open the bookshelf like a door. Behind it is another room.

I knew it, something was fishy abuot the thing and the numbered bookcases..

you should now examine the other door, I wonder if it requires a key and will force you to explore the rest of the place.

Hit F5 for quicksave!

proceed with caution. if its a thieves guild hideout there's bound to be traps everywhere. take a few items from the shelves that you can use to roll on the floor or use as a prodding device.

File: 243RatThivesGuild.jpg - (109.74 KB, 504x432) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

The door at the top of the stairs? Your not going to mess with that now that you finally got this hidden door open.

You carefully proceed into the next room. Everything is covered in dust and cobwebs. Nothing even seems to be very old, just unused.

no, I tought there was another door behind the secret one you opened.

anyway this room i skinda extrange, it seems like it has a ticket booth(where you sell tickets)

File: 244RatThivesGuild.jpg - (109.38 KB, 504x432) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Ticket booth? No, that's where you would fence your stolen goods. Its caged off cause that's where money and thieving tools would be kept.

I say check the barrels first, then the caged off area

he still seems small enought to fit in the arc of the cage/fence.

File: 245RatThivesGuild.jpg - (110.99 KB, 504x432) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Both barrels are empty. There appears to be a safe and a few boxes in the caged room but the door to it is locked and its an odd looking lock.

Small enough? No... you can't fit through it, the lighting must have been playing tricks on you. >.>

You hear the door at the top of the stairs open in the other room and the stairs creaking slightly.

Close the Bookcase door if you can. Or find something to hit whoever is coming over the head with.

Sit at the table and wait.

Or, alternatively, if both those things fail, do the most stupid and movie-like thing.

Hide under the table.

if the barrel is empty and the bookcase wont close hide inside the barrel

Grab the darts off the wall, then go to the table and sit. The less you look like you don't belong here, the less you'll be seen as an immediate threat to be attacked.

The first thing you should do is ask if the visitor is if they have any jobs for you. This will make you seem like part of the guild, bullshit your way out.

If all else fails, throw the dart at their head and dodge past, run the fuck out.

Hide behind barrels. Put out candle.
